    Caught shoplifting 1st time
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I am from Canada, Ontario.
I was caught shoplifting, I am 23 and this was the first and last time I did something like this. When they checked my record everything was OK, I am a good student and this was the stupid thing to do.
The mall's security gave me a NOTICE PROHIBITING ENTRY for 1 YR. They called police and they took informations about me and they let me go.
    I have no criminal record.
My question is, what can happen now? Can police come to my house for some reason? After a year does this information still shows on police information, lets say after 5 years they stop me for speeding, would this show?
Even if I don't have a criminal record (they told me I don't, but this is a worrning) can I travel to US or Europe??
Who can see those things about me, do they send it to the other malls? Do they send my picture to the stores?
    Please let me know.

Hi there, I don't know if you will get my post or not seeing as this was posted in march, but hopefully you get it!
I read your other post about shoplifting from the Bay. I myself just got caught a few days ago and I'm worried and scared. I've never been so depressed before and I've never hated myself more.
I took I think almost 200$ worth or clothes and they called the cops. They took down my info and stuff but decided not to charge me criminally only civilly, saying that the fine was only going to be 300$. I also had to pay a fine of 70$ from the cops and got banned from the store and the mall for a year.
After reading so much stuff about people getting their civil recovery letter then finding out there was criminal charges attached to filed later, I'm so scared now and I don't know what to do. Can you please tell me about your experience since you seem like you paid it and walked away from this whole thing. Did you just pay your fine and that's it?? Thank a million
