    Pain ful neck spasms?
Hopefully this is the right category. I apologize if it is not. Well bare with me:

I am looking for an answer as to what is wrong with my neck because I don't have medical insurance right now and it has been bothering me.

Current Problem: I am 15 now. My neck now tends to spasm. It happens out of nowhere when I least expect it. My head will jerk to my left side violently and I then start to get a very painful spasm in the trapezius area of my neck. This has been going on for about 3 years now for like at least twice a month. They are extremely painful but the pain only lasts for about 20 seconds. One time it was so painful I passed out. Another time I passed out, right before I experience a sharp pain in my arm pit (again the left). Related? Pinched nerve?

I do not know why my neck is doing this. Ive never experienced whiplash or an injury.

Any ideas on what this could be and how bad I might need treatment?
Is it common? What should I do?

And sorry if my question isn't that understandable.

    Please and thank you

You might be under a lot of stress. Stress can do weird things to your body. The neck is a target area for stress.

    Hi, scoffed!

You say that your 15 and that this has been going on for three years? What do your parents have to say about this? Also, if there's a problem with financing for a doctor, then there are various ways that some sort of payment can be worked out or financial assistance for which people can apply.

No one here can diagnose you. All the best that we can do is make educated and hopefully, informed guesses as to what might be going on. Some of those guesses might be quite good, but none-the-less, no one here who might even be remotely qualified to make a diagnosis can actually meet with you in person and physically examine you.

Not all doctors charge the same rates, you could also call around to different physicians to see what they might charge or maybe even give you a break in the price. I've had a doctor in the past give me a break in the price.

I wish and hope only the best for you!

    Thanks!

You need to have your parents check for programs that will take care of your medical. In my area the Children's Hospital has CHIPS. Many doctors will have you fill out a low income form or refer you to a clinic that will use a sliding scale. Also if your parents are low income they can file for medical assistance through Welfare.
A family of three that makes under 18,000. A yr is considered poverty level.

One thing that it sounds like is tourrets syndrome Nervous System Articles you could have a pinched nerve or some musclar problem.
