Hampton bay fan remote works the speed not light
I installed this fan OK... it was fine for 2.5 years now the remote only works the fan speed. It does not work the lights. I removed the fan and checked connections which are good.Luckily the fans lights are in the on position and POWER is through a wall switch, that controls the lights. But I wish my remote to work the lights too.The battery is good in the remote( as it changes the fan speed) Anyone with same or like problem that has been resolved or any advice other than replace? Or can you tell me what the problem is?

Do the lights come on at all? Does the LED on the remote respond when you attempt to activate the lights?

It is one of three things:

    1. Bad connection/problem with the light itself
    2. Bad remote
    3. Bad receiver

#1 is an easy fix, #2 and 3 say "take the fan back and get a new one under warranty"

Yes the lights are on... they only work by a wall switch, which powers the entire fan. Yes the LED light does respond when pressed, but no action. The remote works the fan speed though.
Today I removed the light housing to change the dim code, and also the remote.. same problem... new fan coming soon... It will be a duplicate one so I will, just for knowledge, try a new remote and then if needed switch out the reciever/circuit board.

I am fairly certain it is the receiver. Easier just to replace the entire fan, Home Depot should exchange it for free.
