Installing a shower where a tub used to be?
Hi everyone :), I am hoping I may be able to get some insight on a HUGE problem I have. My husband and I recently discovered that our wall in our bathtub has mold on it and was starting to cave in. This is the main large wall that is in between the two skinny walls in the bath tub (above the tub) but the mold goes all along the bottom of the wall and above the tub.
We have another shower we are using so we aren't using the moldy one.
My question and problem is ... How do I... or rather, is it possible for us to rip out the moldy wall and bath tub and replace it to put a shower with just a drain in the spot? I ask because we never take a bath and a shower seems more practical, with space wise and everything it will make the bathroom appear much larger because of glass doors instead of a shower curtain.
I have done small projects before, but never anything like this.. but it can't be that difficult. I am just not too sure where the water valve for the water is in the bath tub and not sure if I am able to just rip the wall off ( are there studs, pipes or wiring )? If anyone may be of GREAT assistance, it will be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you any/everyone! :p
