    Bounty hunters I believe
    Some kind of aliens
    Small cast maybe 4 to 6 main actors
    Kind of a cross of Space: Above & Beyond & Firefly
    Around 91/94 time frame
    Only lasted one season

    Starhunter comes kind of close, but it's much more recent than your timeframe.
