    Rules on Witness Protection
Hi! I am writing a book and I need some expert insight on the Witness Protection Program. My main question is: once you are in the program, follow all the rules, but are killed in an accident under your new identity... will the truth come out about your old identity or not? If you are at work when this happens, and the feds question the employer... will the employer ever find out that you were, in fact, in witness protection?

Your old identity will not come out even after you are dead.

    1. once they are moved and in the program they are not watched or tracked but just on their own after they are done in court and settled into their new ID.

    2. If they die, there is no check they merely die as the new ID ( person) and in fact there may not even be a check to see what happened to them, after they are moved and put into place.

    3. After they testify in court, the government is done with them, they are given the ID, and the feds move on to the next person and next case.

So after they die, I doubt the feds would even come in and do anything,

If they were killed, the local police would investigate the death of the new ID person, and most likely never even be told this was a witness person.

So I don't even see the feds coming back in to do any follow up, since after they testify, they are no longer a witness, just a past witness

The new ID is it, the rest of their life is the persons problems.
