J1 short term scholar tax return.
Hii... My name is sushank and I am from india . I went to syracuse university (new york ),US last summer on J1 Visa (Short term scholar) and stayed there for 10 weeks (72 days ),

. I received 5000$ out of that 700$ is deducted as taxes (federal). I have used some cintax software to know how much I will get refund and it has shown that 3500$ is exemption and for the remaining 1500$ I have to pay 150 dollars as tax. SO I will get 700-150= 550 as refund.. But I heard that I can get the whole tax refund. Is it so? Please help me...

I am presently studying masters in INDIA.
