Filing federal tax from India through mail
I worked in US in Jan & Feb 08 on L1B. Now I am back in India. Please let me know if I have to file the tax returns 08 from India, where should I send the courier of paper return? I am unable to file it online because I am in India. Also I need to file tax return for IL state.

Please let me know both these addresses where I can send the paper return & complete the process before 15th April 09.

You will file nonresident tax return Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ. You must file federal tax return if income is more than $3500. You can deduct your living expenses as itemized deduction. Mail to Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service Center, Austin, TX 73301-0215 USA

For state return, check filing requirement for the state. Your income may be below the filing requirement.
