Hi, I;m new to the home owneship family, but I recently tried to install a HB Tahoe 52". The fan and light kit wires are blue, white and black. My ceiling wires are red, black and white. I have blue and red together, white to white and black to black. Only the lights work, what did I do wrong?

I'm not an electrician, let alone an expert, so you may wish to wait for others to advise.

Sounds like you wired OK.

It requires working with live wires, but you could test, with the switches on, using a light switch between the red and white, and then black and white. If no power black to white then the fans not getting power, so switch issue I believe??

You can also make sure you have power at the switches. I once took down and tested a ceiling fan, only to find it was the 4 minute switch changeout that needed to be done.

Again, if I'm mistaken, others will point that out in time. At best I'm a DIY'er that sometimes is right, sometimes is wrong.

Sounds like you have the wiring right in the fan itself, but what does the wiring look like in the switchbox?

Like is the red hooked into a switch at all in the wall?

Sounds like you did nothing wrong. Two things:

1. Make sure the fan's reverse switch is firmly in the up or down position.

2. Try connecting the fan's black to the red wire along with the blue. If it works then, your black wire is not hot. If it still doesn't work, the problem is with the fan.
