    Diversity factor & pump selsction
    Dear all
If we have a chilld water plant work at diversity factor 80% what is the water flow rate in pumps
    1-100 % of full load
    2-80% of full load
    Why ?

    Dear friend

    The answer is 100%

It seems you are confused about where diversity factor is used.

    I will give an example

Assume that the project gross tonnage is 1000 tons. And due to different oriantation of external walls, different usage, different occupants time, we can use a diversity factor of 80%, so the project chilling capacity becomes 800 tons. THIS MEANS you size chillers and pumps for 800 tons (not 1000 tons), and therefore the pumps work at 100% after applying the diversity of 80%.

If you need more clarification please do not hesitate
