    Connecting vcr recorder
We have now invested in buying a new digital TV. We use the old rabbit ears. Now I want to know can I hook up my old analog vcr recorder so I can record programs. Do I have to get another set of rabbit ears for the converter just to go to the vcr? Thanks for your help, Hot camaro

    Stratmando

Never tried recording Digital on VCR, strange if it worked.
1 way is a 2 way splittter, out goes to TV, and the other out goes to VCR, then VCR out to another TV in, probably composite(yellow and white, or yellow, red, and white)

VCRs can't record digital. Having said that, if you connect your VCR to the *analog inputs* that would go to your new TV, you can record. Alternately, if there is an analog audio output from the TV (rare, but it does occur -- it's almost always an RCA hack with a yellow color), you can connect that to the VCR and record programs.

You can also get a converter box (I'm sure you've seen them advertised) that will convert digital to analog. Stratmando's suggestion of a splitter will also work if you have a converter box or if you're receiving an analog channel. (I saw today on the tele that there remains only 99 days until digital conversion).

Thank you Perito, I'm going to try the audio/video connectors and see if that will do the job. I have already bought 2 converter boxes.
