What do I do if my landlord broke my lease with purchase option?
My landlord broke my lease with purchase option. I've been living here for about 5 months and he put the property up for sale without letting me know. I'm supposed to be the first one to buy this place, that's why I put money down on it. Now he says I need to come up with a down payment and he will put the property in my name. My lease is not up until Sep. 30 2009. What do I do. What happens if he sells this place, I'm going to have to leave. The property was a fixer upper and I put all of this money into this place thinking it was going to be mine. Now that it is fixed he is selling it for more than the price that he told me. What do I do, call a Lawyer and take it to court? Or should I try to settle this out of court? Any help I would appreciate it.

    Hello b:

There IS no settling out of court. That's what you're trying to do NOW. Is it working?? No, it isn't! He's trying to STEAL your home.

Therefore, the ONLY thing to do, is hire a lawyer. And, I mean the ONLY THING TO DO.
