    Lenten information
If I gave up pickles for lent, does that mean that I can not eat tuna salad?

That's right. And not just during Lent. Because it's gross.

Hey, I eat tuna salad with pickles!

But, isn’t the question really a legalistic approach to avoid a real and meaningful penitential act? But, if this is the best one can do then no pickles in tuna or potato salad.

    kwetz...
I LIKE chopped pickles in my tuna salad sandwiches but if I gave up the pickles for Lent then I would leave them out and be strongly reminded that I was giving up something I like in repentance for my sins.
I do not eat meat on Friday during lent, but I sometimes eat fish instead.
In doing so I DO NOT eat something like a lushious lobster tail or yummy Crab claws.
That would be far to enjoyable to be a "meaningful penitential act" if you understand what I mean.
    Peace and kindness,
    Fred
