I have a Kohler shower valve that recently has been making a screaching noise. There is an old post that says it is probably debris vibrating. The remedy is to remove the valve and clean out the cavity. How is that done?

Not knowing the model of your mixing valve ties our hands. I've put up several tub and shower valves,(see images) Hope they can help. Tom
