    Q1 visa filed 1040 instead of 1040nr
    hello,
I came to the usa on February 2007 on a Q1 visa.I files my first time taxes on 2008.at the

moment, I didn't know anything about taxes or forms I should file,so I went to that guy
    calling
himself an expert and he went and filed a 1040 electronically even if he new that I was a

non-resident.well,I am from Morocco and I made around 13000 dollars on 2007.

this year I was lucky finding that guy who explained to me that I have to file a 1040nr.

    I contacted the i.r.s and they told me that I have to send a 1040x with a 1040nr and a 8843.

I went back to that guy who did my taxes wrong and he was trying to explain to me that its

correct, but I confronted him because I know that I don't meet the substantial test requests.

and he ended up filling a 1040x and 1040nr for me,and I just realized that he didn't type

the name of my country correctly (morroco instead of morocco)

    well,my questions are :

    - am I doing the correct things and filing the correct forms ?

    - what part of the 8843 should fill : teachers and trainees?students?. knowing that I

    worked as a cultural representative.

    - is there a problem if I correct my country name manually since that guy typed it and

    printed it wrong?

    - I did get the 300 stimulus for 2007, should I pay it back to IRS to ?

    - I'm applying for a tourist visa and the case is still pending,so what status should I put on

    the 8843?

this is really getting me lost,so I really need your help please

Q1 teacher or trainee are exempt from residency for 2 years and student are exmept for 5 years. You do not pay any SS tax or Medicare tax during exemption period. Must file Form 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ and 8843.

You will amend your tax retun and file Form 1040X with 1040NR/1040NR-EZ and 8843. Yes you will return stimulus rebate.
