    Submersible pump not working right
I'm not getting water from my submersible pump and the switch is stuck in the on position(contacts are together) can I tell if it's the switch or the pump without pulling the pump.I have electric to the switch because it will spark when I play with it.

If your switch is sparking you just answered your own question, replace the switch.

It might be the switch, but I'm not so sure. If the points are closed, it's almost certainly because there is no pressure in the system. The points are sparking, probably, when you open and close them. That would indicate there is current going to the pump. I'd first try a voltmeter on the pump side of the switch to see if current is getting through the points. If not, then you can turn off the breaker and file the points with a piece of sandpaper folded double.

If you do have current, then you know the problem is between the switch and the pump, probably the pump itself. How old is it?
