Need a lot more data before we can begin diagnosing issues. What hardware are you using? What operating system(s), any additional 3rd party software for connecting or just using windows built in configuration?
The darkvision is quite correct in requesting more information. Nevertheless, Windows Firewall or another personal firewall is one of the biggest problems. Try turning your firewalls off and see if it works. If it does, you need to configure the firewall to let you through.
Also, check this thread. It applies to your problem.

Do all of the systems have IP addresses? Can you ping one system from another?
OK when I said equipment I do need more information than just a "switch" is it cisco? Edge? Or some other brand? What's the exact model. I need to know if were talking a high end switch that your going to need to telnet into to configure everything or are we talking a baseline switch with very simplified functionality.
As well I guess I also need to know what sort of experience with this sort of thing do you have(switches/routers/LAN's/windows 2k/AD) because the reasons its not working is legion at the moment, so id like to try to narrow it down to a few more likely scenarios.
For the basic information you have up we still can't trouble shoot. Are you using DHCP or manually configuring IP's? Have you configured your switch? Have you set up accounts and rules in active directory? Can the other PC's ping the server? The switch? This is all very basic information for a networked environment like your trying to set up and we need this sort of thing in order to help more because a server/client environment is much more complex then a simple home network.
