Flat roof inspection needed for home insurance
Hi my insurance agency says I need my flat roof inspected for any worn wood or standing water. But every time I call for the contracter to come out they want to price the job to repair the roof.I just had my whole roof redone in 2001 and they said I need just the flat part inspected with a letter stated the roof is in good condition the people I had come out say they see the vally part bugleing up and their is no flashing the person that did my roof put shingles on top of the rubber but I do not have any leaks.was it okay for the roofer to put shingles on that rubber?and what will happen if there is a problem with the flat roof?

I have never seen a roof valley bulge up. If anything they sink and bow in the middle because of the valley jack rafter wasn't beefy enough, and the snow load gets stuck in the valleys and the weight of ice and leaves over time concaves the valley

If there is a rubber roof on the flat part the ONLY way to repair that is with a piece of rubber roof glued down and SPM seal around that.

Explain the shingle on rubber better give all details so we can assist you better

    Thanks
