    New light stays on
I just replaced an overhead light in a mobile home bathroom. The old light worked, but was VERY ugly. It has a dual switch and now will not go off. I wired it correctly, black to black, white to white and ground to ground. Neither switch works the light now. Help

You say you have two switches but the wiring you describe sound more like a single switch. Can you explain a bit more, are there any red wires?

BallengerB1 - No red. On one side (power) there are 2 black and 1 white. On the other (neutral) there are 3 white. There is also another white for ground. I don't care if it works on the double switch or not. It comes on and does not go off. This is the simplest of electrical projects, but I managed to mess it up. Thanks for your help, kat

OK whoever wired this first did not follow the standard procedure. White is for neutral only and bare or green is for your ground. The black should be your hot. Get a test meter and test white to balck, should be 120, same for black to ground. White to ground should read zero. See if this is what you get. When testing you should disconnect the wires from your switch. Tell me about the screws on th swicth, are they all the same color or are they siver and brass?
