    Hi,

I am running new 3" pvc toilet drain 4' between joist, then have an elbow, then have to cut 4' hole through 3 joist, to drain to 1st floor . Will I have a problem with the toilet draing.

Also, will 1' 1/2" vent be enogh for toilet?

    Hi Gerry...

You said, "then have to cut 4' hole through 3 joist"...? Did you mean a 4" hole?. hope so... ;)

The toilet should drain fine as long as you have 1/4" pitch per foot of pipe and the vent connects into the toilet drain line within 6-8 feet of the toilet elbow.

A toilet requires a 2" vent, but 1.5" is better than no vent at all, for sure... so up to you here.

Let me know if you have more questions...
