    Adjusting electric stove/oven thermostat
My oven seems to be running a little hot. How do I adjust the thermostat? Thanks

To get a good temperature setting you will need to buy an oven thermometer ($5). Then turn on the oven (of course) and see what the oven thermometer reads. If it's too hot, you remove the oven knob and look on the underside of the oven knob. You will see little hash marks with a + and a - make cooler, make hotter.

Looking at the back of my oven knob it says:

To adjust oven temp loosen screws and rotate. Each notch is 10 degrees.

Yours should say something similar once you take the knob off the oven.

I tried the oven thermometer. My oven reads within a very few degrees of accurate. Hmmmm... wonder why my bread burned? That's never happened before. LOL Guess I can't blame it on the oven this time! Thanks for your help.
