    How to change from B2 to F1 visa
    Hi,

    My nephew come to USA holding a B2 Visa, I want to change it to F1 visa, anybody know what the process is?

    He needs to find an academic program at a school, college or university that is approved by USCIS to issue the SEVIS I-20 (most colleges and universities do).

    He must be approved for admission and usually the foreign student advisor (FSA or DSO) will file the change of status for him. He must have financial support to show he has tuition and expenses paid. The COS is filed on form I-539.

    Please check his I-94 (the small white form he got on entry to the US) to see that it does not have any restrictive annotations on the back side.

    Best to discuss with the school or consult with an experienced immigration attorney.
