    17 week puppy bleeding
    Hello

My 17 week female puppy is bleeding and I have been told by the Vet that she is to young to be in season. I am taking her to the vets tomorrow but was wondering if anyone had had this problem before or might know what it could be.

    Thank you.

What breed of dog is it? Some very small breeds can come into heat very, very early, although its not common. Is there swelling? How long has this been going on?

    Hi

Thank you for getting back to me. She is an Australia Kelpie, so medium to large dog. There doesn't seem to be any swelling. But she has just done a few little pees around the house and normally she is really good at going where she is supposed to!

So is it blood in the urine? There are several possibilities, most likely an infection. It could be a: UTI (urinary tract infection), or perhaps a uterine infection. Also is there any possibility your dog may have ingested anything toxic? Are there any other symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea? How's her energy level? There is no way to know for certain until you have consulted your vet. Please keep us updated!

    Hi

Took my puppy to the vets yesterday. The Vet was a bit puzzled as she could see no blood. She is on antibiotics in case it is a urine infection and has also recommended that I get her and her sister spayed in the next couple of weeks. Poor little things! Her energy levels are fine and she running around like crazy as per usual.

    Thanks for message before.
