Tax exemption for Indian resident alien
I'm an Indian student on a F-1 visa and have become a Resident Alien for tax purposes from this year (2009).
    1. Do I have tax treaty exemption?
    2. Do I pay social security tax and medicare tax?

    Thanks

When did you enter the U.S. on F1?

I came on an F-1 on 1 Aug 2003. To clarify my question, do I have tax treaty exemption that I can mention on my 1040 form.

Sounds like you should be a resident alien for 2008.

Yes, you are correct. It is 2008.

Coming back to my question: do I have tax treaty exemption?

No, you do not get treaty deduction.
