I bought a used computer it is a Compaq Evo, and it was running WinXP Pro SP2. I have to reintall the OS, and I can only get to the setup screen, then it asks for the disk, which I do not have. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Contact compaq they should send you a new disk for free(but ask nicely otherwise they might charge 5-10$)

hope it works. The problem is that windows started coding each disk to accept only one CD key so you can have issues trying to use a friends. As well Microsoft will not send you a new copy they will automatically refer you to the seller of your PC, didn't really bother explaining all that but realized I should have. Generally speaking most manufactures will send you a new disk free of charge, but every one I've ever talked to has stated they should charge $x.xx for it. But in my experience I have never been charged, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. GL :)
