How to connect DVD player directly to Dish Network DVR receiver
I have an older TV for my kids that has a Dish Network receiver attached and operational. I just picked up a DVD player and I also have a RF modulator. I've tried every combination of connection to and through this thing that I can think of... with no results. I am at my wits end(my lovely daughters are KILLING me with the veggie tales DVD's [I have a DVD/TV combo in my bedroom]). Any suggestions? I can't afford a new boob tube right now.

Normally a digital satellite receiver would be connected to one set of the TV's composite video/stereo inputs (yellow red and white jacks) while the DVD player would be connected to another set of the TVs composite video/stereo inputs. Some TVs might have the second set of inputs on the front of the TV or on the side near the front of the TV. IF your TV and either the satellite receiver or DVD player have component connections that type of connection may result in a better picture.

If you TV only has a single set of video/stereo inputs you may want to check your favorite video game or other consumer electronics retailer for a composite video switch box. As popular as High Definition game consoles are recently the stores may even have component switch boxes.

If your TV is so old it doesn't have composite inputs you might be able to install a switch box between the satellite receiver and the RF modulator.
