Thermostat Wiring Confusion Trane to Hunter
I've checked the boards and can't find the answer to this:

    I'm trying to replace a Trane model t8411r with a Hunter 44260.

    The Trane has these wires:

    G
    B
    R
    Y
    W
    O
    X2

The Hunter has these connections for wires:

    Y1
    W/B
    Y/O
    RH
    RC
    G

    Questions:

    Do I overlap connections, such as W & B on the W/B and Y & O on the Y/O?

Where do I put the X2 wire?

I would wait and talk to customer service at Hunter tomorrow but I took the Trane off and when I replaced it, the ditigal reader and I think the unit, stopped working. It's going to cold tonight.

    thanks for your help.

The new thermostat will not support the functions required by your system, even though all the letters seem present and accounted for. Combining "Y" and "O" will force your heat pump to run in the cooling mode at all times. Even if it were the correct model, Hunter is a poor choice. My advice: return it and purchase a Honeywell intended for 2-heat/1 cool heat pump system.

KC--Thanks for your help. I'm up in Columbus, where it's cold. I'll take your advice.
