I have fitted a ceiling light and connected the wires but the light will not turn off and just stays on. I think the wiring is old with new, I have the following colours

Black
Blue
Red *2
Yellow
Copper (with green cover)

Please help with how I can sort out this problem

1. What country are you in?
2. What was there before and how was it connected
3. Which wires are from the fan, which from the ceiling?

I Have the same problem, I'm in the USA and the light comes on once I turn the fuse on again but I can't turn it off. I have wired the Black and Neutral wires and there is a 3rd that I think is Earth but I don't know what I'm doing with that. It's a really basic light fitting, nothing special at all so any advice would be grea.
