    Lightening My Hair
Hi I was wanting to lighten my hair up. My hair is a medium brown & it look's a little harsh for me so I was wanting to lighten it up, but am kind of scared because I don't want it to be blond, but I do want it to be a light brown.:)

Well do you plan on doing it yourself or going to a salon? If you are going to do it yourself, then I would go to a beauty store and grad the color swatch book to find out what level you are. If you are medium like you say you are then you might be a level 5N or 6N. If so then you can lighten without using bleach. So then you get the color. I like Wella, but that's up to you. Then as far as developer you can use 20 or 30. Using 20 that will lift 2 levels and 30 will lift 3 depending on how light you are. If this is your first time doing this and you are scared then I would have it done by a professional. Good luck. By the way I am a hair stylist so if you ever have anymore questions about hair, feel free to ask me.

If you use a hair bleach and if you are doing it yourself, don't keep it in for too long because it will become blonde.
