    Bromine
I've seen a string (now closed from inactivity) about people whose cats love the smell of chlorine. I have the same phenomenon, but with Bromine. My cat goes berserk for it, eventually attacking my ankles and hands.

I'd be a bit suspicious about claims that there is chlorine in cat pee (I can find no resources asides from some claiming that chlorine can smell like cat pee). Though of course if it's just a matter of smell, then that would make some sense.

I also see plenty of information that bromine is used in an anti-epileptic medication for cats.

I never saw a definitive answer to the first posting so wonder if there was ever a solution (no pun intended).

Seems from here that cats going nuts over the smell is not so uncommon.

See this link and scroll down to the section titled I've cleaned up the spot but the cat keeps returning to spray. What else can be done to reduce the problem? It says ammonia and chlorine are constituents of cat urine.
