Kenmore sxs freezer fan has no voltage
I have a kenmore sxs refrigerator, model# 596.50692001. The freezer fan will not run... no voltage across fan leads. I replaced t- stat to no avail! I have 120v at freezer control and checked continuity through control and it seems OK. Does anyone know if the ptc relay and the defrost timer has anything to do with not having any voltage at freezer fan? Compressor is running.. compressor fan is OK.

On most units the freezer fan is connected to the door switch that also controls the light. The switch will turn the fan off when the refrigerator door is open on some models and turn the light on so you can see what is inside. Check the switch to see if it controls the fan operation. Over the years I have replaced many door switches for this reason. Depending upon how it is wired you can jump the switch to test it.
