    Painting on ceramic tile
What kind of paint will stay on ceramic tile around a shower. I would like to make a change but not have to through the trouble of removing old and putting new. Need you help.

    Thank you

Hi handygal I used an epoxy paint on my shower base. It has been down for 2 years and no problems.

First thing to do is rough up surface to give epoxy something to hold on to.

Clean area to remove soap scum and dust.

Use dry rag(tack rag) to remove any film left on tile from cleaning.

    MAKE SURE AREA IS DRY.

    Follow directions on epoxy paint.

The one I used had to cure for 48 hours.

My work was not on a wall. But I don't think it should make any difference. I used Jacobs Epoxy which is 2 parts and had to be mixed.

    Good luck
    Chuck

Epoxy is the way to go. Rust-o-leum makes a product called Tub and Tile, just right for your situation. Get it at ACE or Menards. RustOleum.com
