    Contesting a Will
    Hi,

I have a friend whose dad passed away a few weeks ago. Her mother was not mentioned on the will. Does she have a right to contes the will. She has a copy of a previous will that indicated that she was on the will.

Also how long does she have in Canada, Ontario to contest a will?

She was also not the beneficiary of her husbands life insurance but her youngest child is. Can my mother also contest that?

Also one of her children was also left out of the will. Can he also contest the will?

How expensive is it to contest a will?

    Thanks.

First off we need to get some basic questions answered.

    1) was your mother married to the man at the time he passed ?

    2) is " her " child a child from him or another man ?

Any will can be contested, if you will or won't win is another issue.

Life insurance does not go to the estate and is paid to the person listed. The only way to challenge it, would be if there was fraud
