    Double taxation
    Hi,

I am a US citizen of Indian origin. I am working in the US and hold non-qualified stock options (of my company which is co-headquared out of the US and India).

If I now go and settle (long term) in India, and exercise my options, will I be liable to paying any taxes in the US?

(I understand that for these kind of option, if I exercise these in the US, I am liable to taxes (equal to income tax) at the time of exercising the option. In India, however, no taxes are applicable at the time of exercising the options.)

Yes, you are liable. U.S. citizens are liable for income taxes on ALL sources of income world-wide.
