They got them illegally or by skirting the laws here.

Besides, would stricter gun laws really stop criminals, who get their guns illegally, from committing crimes? The government would have to make the PRODUCTION of ALL assault weapons illegal. Then these criminals, being smarter than the average politician, would import these weapons.

How about the US citizens, are they allowed to arm themselves to protect their own property, family, and liberty?

Of course it will never happen but legalize drugs, government controls the drugs, drug cartels go away in time, then no need for automatic weapons to protect yourself.

But, all this stuff is easily solved. Really. It's EASY!!

The super violent drug cartels in Mexico are a product of OUR drug war. So, if we ended the drug war, the super violent drug cartels will have to sell shrimp.

I know you don't believe me... I don't know why. Go down to your corner... See that store that sells liquor?? Those sales used to be supported by super violent drug (liquor) cartels... Now they're run by your grandfather...

I am in favor of legalizing marijuana, but would you want the government to just legalize, regulate, tax meth as well?

Legalization does not make the social or criminal ills go away. Legal drug like alcohol, oxcontin etc.. can still be abused.

It is not only weed that they make in Mexico ;)

Yes. It's PROHIBITION that's the problem - not the drug.

Besides, I don't see meth as any more dangerous than tobacco or alcohol. And, it certainly isn't dangerous to me. In fact, tobacco and alcohol kills more than all the illegal drugs COMBINED.

So, you certainly can't be concerned with the public health aspect of meth addiction. If you were, you'd want meth addiction to be a HEALTH problem instead of a LEGAL problem. If it were, of course, addicts could get treatment... They can't now.. And, those who don't want treatment could buy their drugs cheaply and get loaded just like the guy who buys a six pack and gets loaded.

You don't think, do you, that meth makes you steal, but beer doesn't?

The MILITA consisted of all able-bodied men who could be called on to resist invasion.
I hear Switzerland still does that.

I do believe that you can own any kind of firearm you want to, including fully automatic, as long as you pay the government their price for allowing you to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights.
Which poses the question, if I have to pay the government, is it a right, or a purchased privilege?

Aw heck lets legalize all drugs and prostitution while we are at it. That way we can become a socialistic nation of pot heads paying for legal sex on the street corner just like Holland! Take the guns, give us more free drugs!
