Adding 50 amp circuit breaker to electrical panel
Is there any sequence to adding a 50 amp breaker to an electrical panel. My panel has several 50 amps at the top then some 20 amps, etc. I want to add the new 50 amp breaker to the bottom of the panel after the 20 amps. Does it matter that the new 50 amp breaker is below smaller amp breaker and not at the top with the other 50 amp breakers. Thanks Gary..

    KISS

Technically, it doesn't matter. The panel's bus is rated for the panel's capacity.

For new panel installs, one would likely place the higher current breakers at the top.

I'm sure someone will bich about me asking another question here but does it matter if there is more 50 amps on one side compared to the other side? Or mixture of double 30, 40, 60, exc. Does this make sense?

Gem, the arrangement of the breakers does not matter one bit.
