I had the contraceptive injection in December for the first time, all was well until after christmas when I started my period and haven't stopped. I was due fir my next injection a week ago but cancelled it in the hope they would stop. Has any one had the same or know if it will stop.

If you want the injections to remain effective, you need to take them in the time frame required. Some women will have irregular bleeding while on the injection... either very frequent bleeding, or very little bleeding. Many eventually find they have less and less bleeding.
Certainly check with your doctor as there can be other causes for prolonged bleeding that should be ruled out.
