    Bad checks in California
In 2001 6 checks were written purportedly by me. I applied for a job and they did a back ground check and informed me that I had warrants for worthless checks (a felony) and burglary in the second degree (also a felony) due to these checks. I immediately contacted the court and was told to turn myself in and get a court date. I did this, paid a bail bondsman and got released with a court date. What is the possibility of these charges getting reduced to misdemeanor?

    Hello c:

That's the wrong question. You should be asking about a lawyer and why they're charging you long after the statute of limitations has expired.

But, if you want to lay down for them, go ahead.

Sounds like they charged him and had a warrant for him but he did not "know" it until the job thing happened.

    Ok first
    1. did you do it, you word this like you did not do it,
    2. so if you did not do it, make them prove you did, signuture matches, clerks to testify it was you and more.
    3. plea bargain, depends, how good is their evidence ? But on this old a case, if the people all get paid back they should.
