Junction Box for connecting 220 Oven and Cooktop
I have a single 220 #8 3 wire cable that I want to install in a junction box the will let me attach those wires and then let me connect the wires running from the under counter oven and Cooktop to the junction box. I would prefer a box that has the screws that let me slide the wires in and then tighten the screws. Anyone know the name or description of the type of box I need or other suggestions. The circuit beaker at the panel for the circuit is 40 amp and I have been operating a free standing range off the wire but the new unit has a separate cooktop and oven.

    Hi Preach2
We need a little more info. Type of wire= bx or romex. Also I would check the installation instructions to see if u can use one 40amp circuit for both units. I had a free standing stove using 40 amps. The new under counter oven and counter cook top instructions said to use a 40amp circuit for each. Let us know about wire.

    Good luck
    Chuck
