Describe a situation in which you were under pressure to make a decision even though you did not have all the facts
Quite a few years ago I decided to buy a house and enlisted the help of
A real estate agent. I told her the type of house I wanted, and she took
Me around to see quite a few. I was living in an apartment at the time
And at the end of the second year of a year-to-year lease.
I finally found one I liked and she advised me to sign a contingency
Contract, because she had a prospective buyer, but his credit was very
Bad, and she was sure his loan application would be rejected. With this
Information, I told the apartment management that I would be leaving
At the end of my lease. My loan was approved, and I assumed I
Would be moving out in a few days.
Then, the real estate agent calls me and tells me that the man's credit
Application was approved, and it was going to be his house!@! I then
Had to pay my apartment on a weekly basis, which is a whole lot more
Than monthly, and search frantically for a house. I ended up buying a
House I have never liked. The real estate agent, after the closing
Several years ago, had the gall to say that she thought the first house
Was "too much house for me anyway!!!" All it had that this one doesn't
Is a second floor and a basement. The price was about the same. The
Yard was much smaller (I hate yard work). I was naïve and taken
Advantage of. Never do anything under pressure, if you can avoid it.
