Is 9 yrs. Too long to wait?
Do you think 9 yrs. Is too long to wait for someone to get out of prison? I'm weeks shy of 24 so that would put me around 33 when he gets released?!

9 years is a long time! People can change several times over that length of time. But I think the more important question is why is this person in jail?

If a couple are truly in love it is not the years, you go and visit every week, write them every day, and be there to support the person you really love.

But of course today we seem not to go 9 months, or almost 9 days without wanting to cheat on the other

Why are you asking us? Other than the obvious, you want comfermation. But really, why ask us something when it's you it affects?

I agree with thee above poster, why is the other in jail? What kind of life you want? Why do you love them? (Personlly, and this is just my personal view, Love is not just about that feeling of euphoria, it's about taking responsibility and repecting yourself, as well as your partner.)

So what kind of life do you want, and what are you going to do while your significant other is in the jail? "Life goes on, and people move on, while others choose to sing a sad song." - Me I just made that up. To be honest it's acctually about me, now that I look at it, but I'm sure you can take from it something comforting.

Peace and kindness be with you.

What guarantee are you getting if you give him 9 years?

If you sat around and wait for him you would be missing out on a lot. You have a life and needs too and dating someone in jail is expensive. How did you met him, before or after he went to jail?

Also, believe it or not guys in jail are players and surprisingly be dating more than one girl anyway because they need things to keep them busy. My uncle was in jail for 5 years and had close to ten different women that he met while he was in jail. He only used them to send him money and dirty pics. So even most gus behind bars aren't faithful.

Live your life, and enjoy yourself. Why even think of putting yourself on hold for someone, that is as gone as they can be.

I think its abit selfish for the other person to want you to put your life on hold for nine years. Surely they would want you to have a life? The question is are you willing to live your life like this for the next nine years?
