    Severe daily diarrhea problems!
    Hi

I just wondered if anyone could help... I won't go in to all my health issues as be too long but I have had some women's problems that cause me a lot of pain, I still have this but I managed to find out via the internet that Calcium and Magensium Citrate tablets (all in one tablet) could help the pain that I have. It hasn't helped majorly but it is meant to help over time and I've only been on them around 4 months.

Before all these problems started to get so severe, I was having a bit of a bad tummy and at the end of it all I was told I probably had IBS (Irratable Bowel Syndrome). That got left because of the new problems. Because it was left and I had no help with the irratable bowel, that has also got worse. And I read up that the Calcium and Magnesium may cause diarrhea or constipation (a bit of both). But I have had absoultely afwul diarrhea. I was almost house bound before because of being in pain but I definitely am now. I have not had much luck with my doctor with any of my problems so I just wondered if anyone knew of any tablet/vitamin that you can take and possibly buy as non-prescription that will help my diarrhea but not stop the Calcium and Magnesium from helping?? And something that you can take over time and has no obvious side affects. I've had more luck from the internet in the past than my dcotors so hope someone can give me some good advice. Will be very grateful!

Oh poor u! No help form your doctors! My husband suffers from IBS and its awful! I don't know if they would affect the calcium and magnesium supplements you take but my husband tried many medications before settling on mebeverine and lanzrapole which he can't live without now. Might be worth mentioning to your doctor xx

Have you ruled out dairy and caffeine being issues for you? Many people are told they have IBS, but sometimes it turns out they are actually lactose intolerant. Maybe try cutting way back on dairy products and see if that helps at all. Caffeine sensitivity can also cause stomach upset for some people.

You need to determine the cause of the diarrhea in the first place. Your doctor should be able to rule out other possible causes and then maybe a diagnosis of IBS can be made and treated accordingly.

If the "womens problems" you are having are not being helped by the supplement, that should be addressed as well. Depending on the problem you are having, there may be better options for treatment.
