Hey I've been going to church now for about 3months and feel like I have been trying to seek god for ages now. I have been prayed for but I don't feel like I have found god yet.

I don't no if its because am not sure if am gay yet, I started kissing on of my friends and we just hugged kissed a lot for about 5 months but she moved and we never told any of our friends or even talked about it, think it was because we were drunk. I don't no how I feel about her.

My best friend is a christian and has been for years, maybe if I told her about the situation and got in off my chest I would feel better? Any ideas why I am finding this so hard? I really want to have god in my life. I just can't seem to find him.

I don't know what god has to do with being gay, there's. Just talk to your g/f and get this situation off your chest.

Get yourself an easy reading bible like the LIVING Bible or LIVING Translation. These bibles are written in everyday english and you will understand it better. The Living Bible is a paraphrase. Get to know God and learn how much He loves you and wants you to be His child. Open up your heart to Him , talk or pray to HIM and tell Him you want to know Him.If your really sincere about knowing the Lord He will help you understand who HE is.
It is very important to read His word, the bible. The bible is God's word and praying
Is having communication with Him. Remember, what you say to the Lord must come from your heart. Some churches give free bibles and then there is the Gideon Society who gives bibles away free but the chances are they won't be an easy reading bible. So ask for one and if they don.t have any , buy one for yourself. You will find it easier to understand. In case you are wondering about the authtenticity of these bibles I want you to know Billy Gaham and Charles Stanley two powerful preachers in the world of God reccommends them.

God love's you no matter who you are and no matter what you do. Please keep this in mind as what I am about to tell you may make you upset.

Romans 1:26-27: "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense [sic] of their error which was meet."

This passage is unique in that it is the only place in the Bible that refers to same-gender sexual behavior by women. Bennett Sims, the former Episcopal bishop of Atlanta, believes that these verses have done more to form Christians' negative opinion of homosexuality than any other single passage in the Bible. He writes: "For most of us who seriously honor Scripture these verses still stand as the capital New Testament text that unequivocally prohibits homosexual behavior. Basically what I am saying is that having a homosexual relationship is sin. Plain and simple. It is not my place or any one else's to judge you. That is the biggest flaw in the church they judge and judge people and condem them for being in sin. Yet most of these people have sin in their lives as well.

The human Sexuality is such a strong thing to overcome. God loves you but he hates sin. If you want to have a relationship with God and you want to find him look no further than asking God to forgive you of your sin.

I don't care if you lied yesterday or killed some one today. Sin is sin to God it makes no difference. He will forgive you if you ask him. You have to accept Jesus into your life and he will make you whole.

I am not saying that asking God to forgive you will take away that strong desire you have. That is a daily struggle and I promise you it won't be easy. But it is by far worth it.

Eligah, I have a problem with your post. God has nothing to do with the OPs desre. You are either one or the other. Whatever makes us happy is the way we should go.

I am sorry sir, but it states quite clearly in the bible that homosexuality is a sin. If you read the bible and believe it to be true there is no other answer.

As I understand your question it has to do with "finding" God and not whether you are "gay" or not.

Most people can't "find" God for one of two reasons:

1. They know that they are sinning against God's will and don't want to give up their sin.

2. The Accuser (the devil) has caused them to have a bad conscience over past sins and they don't feel worthy to be recognized by God even though He is calling them to Himself.

I believe that you are in the second category. God is knocking at your door all the time. That knock has prompted you to write your question to us. But you are afraid to open the door for Him to come into your life because you feel He may just condemn you.

His goal is to free you (save you) from a life of condemnation and unwarranted fear. "Finding" Him is mostly telling Him; "I want you to lead me in my life". Then, as you learn about Him (from the Bible), He will let you know what to keep and what to get rid of from your life so that you will remain free of condemnation and filled with the sure hope of His love for you.

OK now sometimes God distance himself just to test u so don't give up and as for your umm gay situation you cannot be gay and christian you can't serve 2 masters in order to really have God in your life you have to let go even if that mean sacrificeing something you love you have to surrender 100% and remember God is a person and relationships with people take time same for God make sure to talk to him and read his word and always acknolegde that he's always right next to you Rev 3:16 But since you are lukewarm and not hot or cold, I'm going to spit you out of my mouth. This means that either your with God or your with the world don't be in between and if you believe that being gay is right then I suggest you read the book of romans it talks about being gay I'm sorry if I offended you I only love you and want to help you may gbu.

I did not read any of the other replies. All I can say is that your looking for God in a church, in a building, your looking for God in a religion. That is your first problem in my own opinion.

GOD is within you. He is within all of us. Yes it is good to seek out other people who are searching and finding and looking for God as well. Just realize that God is all around us. In you and in me and in every living being in this world.

You might not feel like you found him but maybe you already have? Maybe you have not found the right church to be in, or the right people to be around or the right church that shares your share of beliefs.

It takes being open, willing to experience God in many different places with different Like minded people.

About being gay or not being gay, or being in a certain situation does not or should not matter. You have that urge inside to seek God, and I think you have already found him. You might not realize this yet, but he is within you.

Hope this helps somewhat and know not to limit your search to a building or a place or a situation. Okay.

Yes, God is everywhere and I believe very much so in Church where many are worshiping him. When person id looking for God I think it depends on what that particular person is really looking for. It could be almost anything depending on that person's wants or needs.
An open minded person can see something of God in almost anything, even in other people, in nature, in some deeds, and in some books.

Elijah, if I could have the permission to add on to this. The other day I was listening to radio and they interviewed people who were homos and later on became hetros. They said that it was very doable to throw away the life of being a homosexual. One has to pray for it and make his/her efforts to resist the temptation. God listens to your prayers and blesses you accordingly.

Don't we know that God created Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve?
