Does anyone know if certain ethnic groups are more prone to baldness than others? My German relatives on my mother's side nearly all had thick dark hair even at 70, while my Ukrainian relatives on my father's side were mostly bald. I'm 30 and still have hair. I have never seen a bald Native American or Aboriginal or First Nations as they are called in Canada.

Male pattern baldness definitely runs in families, and some ethnic groups are more affected than others. I would assume that other types of baldness could also be genetically linked.
