I started it up like normal got in to go and it stumbled and died. Changed the fuel filter and it fired right up got in to go and died again. We can get it running by spaying starting fluid in the intake, then once it runs on its own at 3,000 rpm it will just shut off. I turned on the drain on the fuel filter and turned the key on till fuel came out, wich I assume the fuel pump works... but I don't know. Anyone have any ideas? :(

Sounds like your cam position sensor. They are notorious for going out in the 7.3L
You should be able to get a new one on eBay for around $40. Or you can go to Ford and pay close to $200.
I replaced one on my dads 7.3L awhile back. His problem was a bad hesitation while driving & no start every once in a while. The cam position sensor starts the injection timing.
It is located on the passenger side of the engine. Access it through the fender well, above the tire. There should be one bolt, with a 8mm head, holding it in if I remember right.
I know quite a few people who carry a spare with them, as they are prone to go out.

Mine has that hessitation while driving once in a while, and I can accually get it started and running for a while now but it just dies. I'll get to that sensor and let you know, thanks!

Put in the one off eBay (used) ran okay then it does the same thing. NEED a new one someone said get the grey one, Does anyone know what year has the grey one?

Hey man I got the sma eproblem with my 1195 7.3 it started and ran for 5 minuints and then cut off unexpectly just at idel then I counldnt get it back started. It would stat with either but that's it.
