You can't. Your best bet is to ask the sender to resend.

In the upper-right part of your gmail inbox, hit "older version" and then the trash folder should appear on the left sidebar. Click that, check what messages you want back, and hit 'restore to inbox'. You can go back to the newer version and they will be there.
