Simple comfort 2200 to a Honeywell RTH7500.


C-blue
G-green
Y-yellow
O-orange
R-Red
E-Black
B-Brown


These are my wires and where the are on the Simple Comfort
I have a place for every wire except the brown wire. Honeywell suggests it goes into the C unless there is a wire in there already which has a blue wire in there. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry forgot White-W2 I assume this would simply go into the aux

Does the new t-stat have a "W" terminal? That one seems to be missing from the equation. Check the indoor unit where the thermostat wire connects - what is the letter designation of the terminal that the brown wire is connected to? If not a screw terminal (wire nut connection), check the wiring diagram to identify circuit. If not connected to anything, you may need a jumper from "E" to "W".

Got that one after I posted. Correct.

I looked through the small service hole next to the breaker on the Lennox unit and could see brown wire going to something that had several wires going into it. The brown was labeled 6. There were two red wires going into it as well, so I am afraid I may have to take off the entire front panel to see it. Unfortunately I do not have time to do this now. Luckily My old t-stat works find I just wanted to upgrade to a programmable.

Okay I have opened up the inside unit and it is messy but

C- Blue
G- Green
R- has 2 reds
W2 has 2 whites and a black but then they also go to W1
Brown looks to be tied off and not on anything literally

Orange and yellow appear to have been connected to other orange and yellow wires.

So I assume the second set of wires for each go to the outside unit. Brown is not used... But what is up with the W2 leading into the W1 is that normal.

So after looking in here and reading around I assume I connect it according to honeywells direction and the brown taped off?

Also looks like the brwn, black, green that go outside are unconnected

My only question now is is there a problem with the white and black being on the same thing (It works with the current thermo). And Why did they connect the brown to anything on the thermostat if it is not connected in the unit.

Okay so I wired the thermostat up leaving the brown wire taped off, according to honeywell's directions. I woke up today and the house was at 55 degrees. The auto is not working for some reason. It says on the stat set to 69 and current is 55. I turned on the fan instead of having it on auto. It came on and warmed up the house a few degrees before I left. My question is why is it not working on auto? Is this the thermostat or my wiring?

The thermostat may have a selector or setup option for fan control. Make sure it is set for electric heat rather than gas/oil.

Missed that in the manual thanks man there was a function menu that I had to change. Thanks for the help.

I have Simple Confort 2200 on my system. I want to replace it with SCL 2211. How do I do the convesion?
