Verbal agreement over our court order
My ex husband and I have an order in place for child support. With the economy and some natural disasters, my ex had stopped paying child support. In an effort to make him pay, I verbally agreed to lower the child support and give him an extra 2 overnights during the month. I had emailed him a letter stating that I had agreed for a period of one year. Mind you, this was just in an email. We never went back through the court and made anything official. My problem is this, he made a few payments at the lower agreed upon amount and then quit paying again. I tried being nice about it and tried being helpful. Things are tough enough with the economy but, he needs to pay his child support and help support his children. Now, I am too the point, I just want him punished for not paying. If I file papers with the child support agency, will they go after what the court had decided for support orders or, our "aggreement"?

You can only change a Court Order with another Court Order; any other agreement between the parties (including written agreements) are non-enforceable.

The original Orders stands until amended.
