    Child support and signing over rights
    My husband has an ex-wife that says he can sign over is legal rights, but we have to start the paperwork. What the heck papers do we need? Where do we begin. Everyone knows she isn't his, but he pays child support because his names on the because.so what do we do? Where do we begin?

    If his name is on the because she IS his. And your husband cannot sign over rights. His ex can request it if she is married and her new husband wants to adopt the kids... but that's about it.

    If his name is on the birth certificate then legally this is his child, and he is obligated to pay child support.

    After that, depending on where the child lives, he may be able to challenge him being the father and ask for a DNA test.
    But this is iffy?
    1. some states after a number of years does not allow the challenge
    2. some states will allow only the real bio father to challenge

    So he needs to get an attorney, there is not "just signing over rights"
