I had a sears card charged off. Bought by a collector, now being sued for full balance. How much can be garnished from my pay check by law?

The amount is set by the State of residency.

Each state has laws governing what debts can be collected with a salary garnishment and what percentage can be taken. Since you didn't give us your location we can't answer.

As an aside, the fact that the debt was charged off has not affect on your obligation to pay it.
